Brandon Taylor

Graphic designer { Web developer }

About me page photos

Brandon was born and raised in the oil capitol of the world, Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1974, and is the oldest of two sons.

Originally planning to be an animator, Brandon instead stumbled into graphic design after taking a trip to Oklahoma State University - Tech on a high-school friend’s recommendation.

He graduated three years later having won the Marvin D. McQueen Portfolio Award, OSU-Tech’s highest honor for graphic design students. He went on to become a designer for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., the world’s largest retail corporation, at their home office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Upon accepting an offer from Brothers & Company, Brandon returned to Tulsa where he would be a creative director, art director, web developer and several other titles before moving to Austin, Texas and hitting the bigtime at Avenue A | Razorfish as a senior developer.

But enough about work. Brandon is a family man, first and foremost. He’s organized, responsible, dependable, handles pressure with ease and great in crisis situations (which happen daily with a six and seven year old).

Brandon also loves to have fun. Surfing in Hawai’i, riding roller coasters, great barbecue and beer, music, movies (especially the likes of Caddyshack, Animal House and anything by John Hughes), spending quality time with family, Skittles - my hybrid macaw, a quaker parrot, a sun conure, a yellow-sided green-cheek conure and a red-rumped parakeet (bird people like me will appreciate this :), and playing piano are some favorite past times.

He also gives back to the community by teaching the Hawaiian martial art of Lua free of charge to anyone who would like to learn, provides tutoring in web technologies and reviews portfolios of graduating students from OSU-Tech from time to time.

Brandon Taylor. Award winning designer, father, husband, son, student, teacher, programmer and so much more.
